Camillo Pola, a nobleman from Treviso, son of Count Paolo, was accepted into the Order of St. John of Jerusalem on May 16, 1704. He was Captain of Trireme, Commander of Sacile, Zakynthos and Kefalonia. Appointed Receiver of the Grand Priory of Venice and Minister of Religion to the Republic, he made his solemn entry into the Senate on February 10, 1721, dressed in a black silk hood with embroidered velvet linings and rich Flemish lace, wearing a very rich octagonal cross studded with diamonds around his neck. In 1727 he was honored with the Grand Cross and on June 14, 1746, having ceased from the office of Receiver, he died in a house where he lived in San Vidal. His remains were transported to the Prioral Church where he was buried, near the altar of St. John.
